The Experience
Learn my signature Behind the Hairline Closure Install technique in this intimate, start-to-finish Look & Learn designed for hairstylists who want to sharpen their skills and add a seamless closure installation technique to their service menu.
During this live demonstration, I’ll walk you through my complete process from foundation to finished style, including my specific braiding technique, how I secure and stitch the closure, my method for stitching bundles in the back, and my signature cutting and styling techniques that bring the final look together.
This is a full start-to-finish demonstration, giving you the opportunity to see each step performed in real time and understand not only what I do, but how I approach creating the finished result.
The class will conclude with an open Q&A, where we can discuss installation techniques, troubleshooting, hairstyling, and the beauty business.
Your registration includes the full live demonstration, lunch and refreshments, Q&A access, and a certificate of completion.

Is this class hands-on?
No. This is a Look & Learn experience where you’ll watch Ashley Akemi demonstrate her signature Behind the Hairline closure installation technique from start to finish. You’ll be able to observe each step up close, take notes, ask questions, and see the complete finished result.
Who is this class for?
This class is designed for hairstylists who want to improve their closure installation technique and create more natural, seamless results. Whether you’re already offering closure installs or looking to refine your technique, you’re welcome to attend.
What will I learn?
Ashley will demonstrate the complete Behind the Hairline installation process, including her braid-down technique, closure placement, securing and stitching the closure and bundles, blending with the natural hairline, and her signature cutting and styling techniques.
Do I need to bring anything?
No tools or mannequin are required because this is a demonstration-based class. We recommend bringing something to take notes with and plenty of questions.
Will lunch be provided?
Yes. Lunch, light refreshments and beverages will be provided during the class.
Will I receive a certificate?
Yes. Each attendee will receive a certificate of completion at the end of the experience.
Where is the class located?
The class will be held at the Ashley Akemi Hair Loft in Wynwood, Miami. The full address and arrival information will be provided to registered attendees prior to the class.
What time should I arrive?
Doors open at 11:00 AM and class begins promptly at 12:00 PM. We recommend arriving early so you have time to check in and get settled before the demonstration begins.
